Facts:
Student Government at the University of Florida was established via a Student Plebiscite on the subject in 1920 by a vote of 110-92. The early anti-SG sentiment argued that "students were unfit to govern and that it would be a 'spy system' for the faculty." (University Archives)

Dear Visitor, I am now graduated by the University of Florida, having first matriculated in the Fall of 1996 my four years are up and I now shall hold a baccalaureate. I remember voting for Michael Covington (The "New" Alliance Party vs. The Equity Party) for Murphree Senate in that first fall I was here. I hope this site, from its radical beginnings to its "wisdom & moderation" end has provided useful resources to you that could not solely be found in traditional media sources.
Now that I have left, the website will of course no longer be updated and has been frozen in time as of May 6th, 2000. It shall remain here though, for future classes of Gators to see and learn about the history of the University and its Student Body Political System. Please be sure to access this page at http://www.geocities.com/cicero13_2000/
